That I chose this was first was not primarily due to it being listed first (although that was a contributing factor) but that I was also interested in learning what it had to say about ARP. The tutorial was interesting in that it discussed in detail the purpose of ARP (Address Resolution Protocol) as well as other insights that might not have been included in other less detailed tutorials. This tutorial taught the ins and outs of address resolution as it is currently achieved, as well as the history of ARP and how it works. It would seem that the business needs being addressed by this protocol are to assist the IT technician and network administrator in understanding how to not only format the request for an ARP, but also how to send and receive the request in a timely and efficient manner. That was probably the most interesting thing about this specific tutorial; how exactly the receiving and the transmitting hosts reacted to the ARP.
The second tutorial visited was the IT Addressing and Background. This tutorial was much more comprehensive and detailed than the first one chosen. It also (from a personal standpoint) was much more difficult to understand and comprehend. It did provide interesting information, in the way of charts and tables. Some of the insights gained through this tutorial is the primary differences between private and global addresses and how each are formatted to provide the necessary protections, yet at the same time can effectively communicate with each other and other networks.
